  First, let me say I checked in late (9:00pm), so I suspect my review would have been better if I had been checked in by someone. Because I was late arriving, there was an envelope with a key and directions to my room, and a request to complete check in in the morning. The hostel itself looked nice; there was a pool (undergoing maintenance) and the rooms were little bungalows. Now, because I wasn't checked in by a person, I was unable to get a towel to shower until the next morning, and I couldn't have showered anyhow because the shower I found next door had its handles removed but no notice that it was out of order (a roommate told me the next morning that was the case, and pointed out the other showers that I didn't know of because it was too dark to see clearly). So I knocked a star off because after hiking 6km through a rain forest, I really needed the shower I didn't get. The second star was lost to how cold the bungalow was & the wifi policy (again, because I wasn't checked in, I had no wifi for the night; they allocate 200mb a person per night, and you have to pay extra for more data, but I didn't receive this information until an hour before I had to check out). Even with the heater on and an extra blanket piled on, I was still quite cold throughout the night. I wanted to like it more than I did. I feel like if I had been checked in normally I would have had a very different experience. So be sure to book and be in early for the check-in so you get a human being helping you out!
